Happy 2011 - Travelling and PokerStars Home Games

Date: Wed, Jan 12, 2011

Happy 2011 everyone

Lets make this year an epic one!

As most of you know I have been travelling since the start of this year, for my project called Tour of Cards. This involves me visiting 52 different countries in 52 weeks and blogging about it. I set up a separate blog for this at http://www.tourofcards.com If other bloggers can place this url in their link list it would be great.

Unfortunately I had a huge bad beat on Jan 1st when my laptop video card broke and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. Fortunately I was able to find some Indian laptop experts when I got to Malaysia that fixed it with a bit of soldering, so I am now trying to catch up with blogging about what I've been up to.

I am in Singapore right now and will be heading over to Australia in a few days to stay for 2 weeks to play Aussie Millions events. I'm really looking forward to this as I really want to make something happen in the live poker arena, and this would be a good tournament series to do that in.

PokerStars Home Games

What's cooler than being cool? PokerStars Home Games :D

PokerStars just launched a new feature on the site called Home Games. This is a feature where you can create your own club and set up private cash games and tournaments for your members with all the results and statistics recorded by the software.

I was playing around with it before it was launched on .com and it's really awesome. If anyone has any questions about Home Games or needs any help with setting up their own club post a comment here.

I've created my own club with a 250bb fast 1c/2c PLO table for some fun. I'll also be adding some low stakes tourneys where I'll put a bounty prize on myself in the near future.

If anyone wants to join, here are the details:

Club Name: Daleroxxu's Drunk Home Games

The 2010 RoxxU Awards

Date: Mon, Dec 27, 2010

It's that time of year again. Yes, it is the time of the year when the poker equivalent of the Oscars are awarded.

If you don't have a RoxxU trophy on your mantelpiece then you haven't made it in poker.

The winners of the prestigious RoxxU Awards are decided by a voting panel made up of the very best poker players and poker media personnel in the world. These are the only fair and unrigged poker awards in the world.

Hottest Poker Chick

WPT Anchor Kim Lansing takes the award for Hottest Poker Chick. Kimberly isn't just "poker hot", she's hot hot, and has real talent to boot!

Best Poker TV Show

And the winner is.... *drumroll*.... The Micros! Krantz and JimmyLegs have produced a masterpiece, a hilarious animated poker series. Check it out on youtube.

Worst Poker TV Show

The clear winner in the voting was Face The Ace. Seriously? Bobby from The Soppranos presenting a show where the biggest douchebags in the world are contestants playing against "pros" that haven't won at poker in over a decade?

What a fucking surprise that it turned out to be the worst show of the year. Even super hot Megan Abreigo couldn't save this show from being an epic fail. Still, every cloud has a silver lining, depsite the epic failure of the show they are now the proud owners of a nice shiny RoxxU trophy. Congrats guys.

Poker Player Of The Year

Our panel of judges took into account a number of factors including number of fools pwned, number of blog hits and number of fanboys, fangirls and railtards.

The clear winner of this impartial vote was Daleroxxu.

Upon learning of the award Daleroxxu had this to say "I am extremely proud to be voted Player Of The Year for 2010 by the panel of elite poker players and the poker media. I've tried to set a good example this year to all the lesser poker players out there, to give them inspiration and the hope that one day they could be as awesome as me."

Most Rigged Poker Awards

There are a lot of rigged poker awards out there, which is why the RoxxU's are considered the only fair awards in the poker industry. This year's Most Rigged Poker Awards award goes to Bluff Magazine for their extremely rigged Reader's Choice Awards. These guys make it seem as if they have a fair vote by their readers, while tactically snubbing certain sites and individuals from their rigged nominations that would otherwise be clear winners of their awards.

Examples:

Favorite Poker Blog - No nomination for The Best Poker Blog In The World - Daleroxxu's Blogaments. Instead they list 5 boring ass blogs where each blogger writes an essay on each dry subject that nobody gives a fackin shat about, surrounded by shitloads of flashing banner ads for every sketchy poker site and shady rakeback affiliate. Not even a single fanboy video in sight. What a joke!

Favorite Web-based Poker Show - No nomination for the guys at Poker Static who are delivering the best poker media content out there at the moment, including interviews with the best players in the world, strategy segments and awesome podcasts. Rigged!

Funniest Poker Twitterer - Ok for a start it's "Tweeter" not "Twitterer" and what's this, no nomination for @DougLeePoker? Either these guys at bluff have no sense of humor or they have rigged it to make sure that @DoyleBrunson and his dumb blonde jokes wins the award yet again.

Congratulations Bluff, you truly are the Most Rigged Poker Awards of 2010. Enjoy the RoxxU.

Biggest Attention Whore

Unanimously voted by our panel of poker experts was Nick Rainey aka 'MI_turtle'.

He's the ultimate SNG grinder, and if you don't grind as hard as him you're a fucking loser (and it's his job to make sure that you know it). Follow him on Twitter? You're a sheep! Follow his blog? Get a life sheep! Member of his training site? Fucking Sheep! Mad Poker is your favorite show? Baaaaaaaahhhh

Congratulations Nick, it takes a true attention whore to have 3 threads about himself on the front page of NVG, BBV and MTTc, and that's the kind of talent that wins you a RoxxU.

I Can't Believe It's Not Botter

This is the award that is given to the person that our panel of judges just can't believe it isn't a bot. 2p2's Kevmath was a favorite for the award when nominations were first announced, but he has since been revealed to be human in this video.

This years award goes to rs03rs03 on PokerStars, because if you're 100+ tabling the $1 DoN SNGs for 25 hours per day, every day, then we just can't believe that you're not a bot. PokerStars bot expert Jeff used every tool and technique available and said there's no sign of bot activity on that account. People still didn't believe that he's not a bot. PokerStars sent someone round to the guys house to observe him while he played, and determined that he's not a bot.

People STILL didn't believe that he's not a bot. Congratulations rs03rs03, you can include the I can't Believe It's Not Botter Roxxu Award as one of your major accomplishments of 2010, alongside being the biggest loser in the history of $1 SNGs.

Best Poker Blog

With a clean sweep of the votes was The Best Poker Blog In The World - Daleroxxu's Blogaments.

With so many shitty poker blogs out there, leave it to the best in the world to set an example of excellence.

Daleroxxu had this to say "Thanks to the impartial panel of Judges for voting Daleroxxu's Blogaments the Best Poker Blog, but the real thanks has to go to my loyal followers, you know - you fanboys out there that love me and love my blog, I couldn't have won this award without you. Remember to check out my blog site for my world tour over at www.tourofcards.com".

Best Poker Podcast / Videocast

This award goes to Poker Static's The Hot Seat, presented by Eric Bickel and Bret Oliverio.

These guys have interviewed the hottest players in the game over 2010, and have always kept it entertaining whilst asking the questions and talking about the subjects that we all want to hear about.

Congrats!

Lardass Poker Player Of The Year

The award for poker lardass looked set to go to Eskimo Clark for the 10th year running but he was excluded from the nominations this time around after I became aware that his 2009 RoxxU trophy was listed on ebay, apparently by someone who found it in a dingy downtown Las Vegas pawn shop. Fuck you Eskimo, don't you dare disrespect the RoxxUs and the game of poker by pawning off your silverware for a couple of buyins to the 1/2 NL game at the Orleans.

With Eskimo out of the running the votes flooded in for The Coach from Kentuky. The coach hasn't finished ahead in a game of poker since the 70's, and this has sent him on a 40-year comfort eating KFC binge, to the point that we see him today. A true ambassador for his country, he wins the 2010 RoxxU for Lardass Poker Player Of The Year.

Forum Thread Of The Year

The best forum thread of the year was voted to be "View: New Way to Insult People" on TwoPlusTwo's News, Views, and Gossip forum.

Dear that_pope,

you are a fucking moron

betting kk into trup qq

- nwerle.

Epic photoshopaments followed. Best thread of 2010!

Reflecting on a Very Special Day

Date: Tue, Nov 30, 2010

Wow, I just beat the biggest blowhard in poker history, heads up and live. Did this really happen? Of course it did, he SUCKED!

The coach has now made his apology video to me as promised if he lost the heads up matches:

A bit too much slagging me off for an apology video to be honest but I'm cotent in the knowledge that he'll have to wear a kilt to an upcoming live poker tournament as a result of losing the side bet with his hillbilly friends over in KY.

Heads Up Match vs Coach Travis

Date: Fri, Nov 26, 2010

Apparently all the railtards out there have been watching some heads up match between some guys, duhhhh and junglegirl or something like that, to keep themselves occupied until the real big heads up match begins involving award winning blogger Daleroxxu.

Well the date has been set, Sunday 28th November 2010, 8pm UK time (3pm eastern hillbilly time). Put it in your diaries because that is the date that will see the Kentucky blowhard known as "Coach Travis" get his ass handed to him on a plate.

He called online poker players weak, he made fun of Scotland and worst of all he disrespected my blog. So it will be sweet justice when this Scottish online poker player kicks his clown ass hard and live, here on The Best Poker Blog In The World ™.

I will play 3 heads up matches versus the coach. Best 2 out of 3. In the unlikely event that he wins I will transfer $50 into his PokerStars account. This may not seem like a large amount to most people in the developed world but $50 goes a long way in Kentucky.

When I win, not only must he make a video apologising to me and acknowledging the greatness of online poker, Scotland and Daleroxxu's Blogament as previously agreed, but his buddies at Geeks on Poker (some radio show where a bunch of geeks talk about poker) challenged him that if he loses to me he has to play in the upcoming Kentucky Poker Championship wearing a kilt. LOL!

I will try to set up a live stream and chat on my blog for sunday night but here are the Tourney ID's if you want to rail. CTRL-T in the stars client and paste the number in.

335097353 - Stud H/L Limit
335097830 - Omaha H/L Pot Limit
335098266 - HORSE

Also on Sunday 8:30pm UK time is the PokerStars Turbo Takedown which costs only 3000 FPPs to enter and has a $1,000,000 prizepool. First prize is $60,000 and an Audi TT and there's $100 bounties for knocking out a Team PokerStars player. Some real nice value right there.

Team Pokerstars: Online

Date: Thu, Nov 11, 2010

I am extremely proud to announce that I am the newest member of Team Pokerstars: Online.

It is a great honour to represent the largest and best online poker site in the world, along side some of the world's most elite online poker pros such as Spacegravy, Jorj95 and Nanonoko.

Importantly for me, PokerStars is a company that I trust fully, and can feel extremely confident in promoting to everyone. This is a forward looking company run by people who know poker and know poker players, placing a huge emphasis on integrity and being good to players.

Lets face it though, it was about time that a Scottish guy got a site deal, and it may as well have been the best blogger in the world. ;) Thanks to everyone who follows my blog and follows me on twitter, I appreciate your support and hopefully I can provide you with even more entertainment and information in the future.

To the people that want to say Glasgow isn't a small town, it's not where I'm "from". I'm from Dalkeith in Midlothian, Scotland. :)

Coach Donkey accepts my heads up challenge.

Date: Mon, Nov 8, 2010

In my last blog update I talked about how some imbecile from some unimportant state in america had made a video mocking me, my blog, Scotland and online poker.

I issued this clownbag a heads up challenge to prove that young, in-shape, handsome, Scottish online poker players are on a much higher level to old, slobby, hillbilly, trailer trash, $5 home game players.
Of course it took him 2 weeks for him to accept the challenge because he knows I'm about to fly to Los Angeles and won't have time to play him. Well ffffff uuuuuuu son, I call your bluff, book it for when I get home. I'm going to teach you a lesson you will never forget.

The challenge I issued him was as follows:

3 private heads up matches - Daleroxxu Vs "The Coach" on PokerStars.

All 3 matches starting at the same time. One Stud H/L limit, One PLO8 and one 8-Game.

If he wins 2 or more of the matches he will get a free $50 into his poker account.

If he loses 2 or more he must make a video of his sincere apology for insulting me, my blog, my country and online poker.

I will be live streaming here on my blog while I kick this fool's ass at 3 different games at once. I'm multi-talented like that. Will probably be around November 20th or 21st.

Also, this fool is already making more videos mocking me. Fortunately he is making himself look like an idiot in these videos so I have no problem putting it up on my blog....

Haters gonna hate. Counter challenge to broke hater.

Date: Mon, Oct 25, 2010

Well it seems that not everyone out there is a Daleroxxu fanboy. Most of you reading this will be shocked at this revelation, I mean how could any poker player worth their salt seriously have anything bad to say about The Best Poker Blog In The World (official)?

One word. Jealousy.

I received notification yesterday that some big clown had made a youtube video where he's sitting on his fat ass talking bullshit about me, my blog, my country and online poker. I thought this has to be a joke, surely nobody is THAT jealous that they would take so much time and effort to make a video about the guy they are jealous of. It was no joke, the video was as described. Check the big clown out:

The Coach is upset at Scottish poker pro Daleroxxu for calling him fat.

So the Coach is throwing down the challenge to Dale. Any time, Any where, Any game, Live and In Person.
Unfortunately the Coach's wife will only let him drive within a 100 mile radius of Louisville, KY and she capped the bet at $50 bucks.

So Dale anytime you are in the midwestern USA feeling saucy Coach Travis wants a piece of YOU MISTER MOUTH!!!!!

PokerKY? POKER KY??? Wtf is that garbage? They named their poker website after a tube of lube hahaha. It is clear that this guy is just trying to use me to promote his bustoass website that looks like it was created by a kid with windows notepad and mspaint. It's like when some crappy unknown rapper tries to "make beef" with a massively successful rap star, just so that they can get their name out there and get hot in the game. I'm the Eminem of poker and this guy is some insane clown from the Insane Clown Posse. GTFO.

He says that I talk like Shrek and look like Justin Bieber. Well that so very ironic, considering that he looks like Shrek and sounds like Justin Bieber. I think I got the better end of the deal there,

As for his lame challenge, obviously I'm not traveling to the middle of bumfuck nowhere to play "The Coach" for $50. Wtf does this guy coach anyway? It certainly can't be anything athletic coz he's too fat. It can't be poker because he's too dumb. Whatever it is, you can bet that it involves KY Jelly. So if this guy thinks I'm traveling to Brokeback Mountain, Kentucky to play him and his boyfriends for fiddy bucks he's dumber than he looks. So I have a counter challenge for Coach Clown:

I will set up 3 private heads up matches between me and "The Coach" on PokerStars. All 3 starting at the same time. One Stud H/L limit, One PLO8 and one 8-Game. The buyin will the lowest I can make it, $1, so that this chump's wife allows him to play. If he wins 2 or more of the matches he will get a free $50 into his poker account. That's enough for him to continue supersizing every meal for the next month. If he loses he must make a video of his sincere apology for insulting me, my blog, my country and online poker.

When you read this son, post your availability dates so that I can set this up. The sooner I get to hand your ass to you the better.

Going to the City of Angels (NAPT Los Angeles)

Date: Wed, Oct 20, 2010

Recently I woke up as I normally do, just lying there in my insanely comfy memory foam bed, not knowing what day or time it was due to the lack of alarm clock and awesome blackout blinds on the windows. When I eventually dragged myself out of bed, all bleary eyed and hair looking like a cross between Alex Jacobs and Russel Brand, I sat down at my computer and seen that it was 7:30pm Sunday night.

I was mildly pissed off because I missed the registration for the weekly Twitter League tournament that starts 7pm UK time every Sunday. I enjoy playing that because I get to battle against other twittering (tweeting?, whatever) poker players that I recognize from the Twitter community, and the one dollah buyin is so insignificant that I can either just go on a rampage trying to bluff and show 72o to guys or get a whole bunch of last longer bets going. Either way, it's always some great entertainment to start off the day while I eat my 7pm breakfast.

Fortunately there was another community organized tournament starting in half an hour, the PokerStars NAPT Satellite for Pokercast Listeners. This was a winner-take-all 176 player freeroll tournament with deep stacks that was organised by the TwoPlusTwo Pokercast along with their sponsor, the PokerStars VIP Club, to give a package to NAPT Los Angeles to one of their loyal listeners.

Qualifying for this thing wasn't easy. I had to win the 6-max holdem event in the Pokercast Summer League to get my ticket. Well, it just seemed like a slightly better way to get a ticket than tattooing POKERCAST to my bicep.

After figuring out wtf to do with 250bbs I got in a good rythm of stealing chips from nits until I was heads up with JimmyLegs. I had an over 3/1 chiplead and was feeling super confident but I just couldn't bring myself to be ruthless. We had played 8 hours, this was a community event and JimmyLegs is a good contributor to that community (rather than some random Russian guy). So the first hand of heads up I told him I'd give him a deal. I didn't try to lowball him or negotiate or anything, I just straight up offered him a piece of me in the NAPT event equal to his exact chip percentage (22.7%). So we did the deal and had a bit of extra fun flipping / racing our cards a few times to end the tournament on a high note.

I'm also giving 5% of my action as a freeroll to the Pokercast crew who will be there sweating me while they record a live show from the event. So I'm now busy trying to buy up 27.7% of other good player's action so that I have a whole buyin's worth of action riding on the event. I already took 10% of Nick Rainey who will be there playing and has kindly offered to show me around LA and it's surroundings, as it's my first time there.

I have booked flights to Los Angeles, where I will be staying at the awesome Millennium Biltmore Hotel from November 10th til 18th. I was able to get flights with only a 1 hour stop-over in london so the whole journey will only take 13.5 hours. Unfortunately I couldn't find the tight-fisted Scottish nit inside me to buy economy tickets for this journey. I will probably have to find that nit inside me before I start touring the world in January though if I'm to keep costs under 6-figures.

I'm also planning to play the first leg of the new UKIPT season in Galway, Ireland in December. I pretty much bubbled this event last year when it was a €2K event but had a lot of fun there hanging out with Vers, Cardlo69 and James Atkin, and also got to play and chat a lot with Teddy Sheringham and his insanely gorgeous and young girlfriend <3.

Lastly there's some good news for all you busto UK and Irish players out there. Every day until November 15th PokerStars are running a £2000 freeroll (yeah you get to play in £ Sterling). You don't even have to have a single penny in your account to play, all you need is an account. And the more of them that you play, the bigger an extra reward you get on top, including tickets to the Sunday $250,000. The standard of play in these tourneys is atrocious so it's basically free money, just a really easy way to rebuild if you've come home from a drunken jolly one Saturday night then proceeded to spunk off your bankroll at the PLO tables (hope I'm not stereotyping the Brits and Irish too badly haha).
